Library Systems Announcement: Upgrade to the Library's Off-Campus Access System Coming April 6

by Taylor Kelley on 2023-03-31T13:04:34-05:00 | 0 Comments

Starting April 6, the library will be switching to an proxy server hosted by the Online Computer Library Center (OCLC). The proxy server provides MSOE community with off-campus access to the library's licensed electronic resources, including e-books, e-journals, and licensed databases. For more details about the proxy server, visit the OCLC site.

Hopefully, the only change you'll notice after April 6 is easier off-campus access to our electronic resources. If that's not the case and you're having issues, consider the following:

  • If you have bookmarked any databases, online journals or other electronic resources, the old URL for those resources will no longer work. You can visit the A-Z database guide or search on Summon to find the new URL.
  • Try traditional troubleshooting methods including using a different browser and clearing cache memory and cookies. You can learn more about these and other solutions at our Troubleshoot Access to Digital Materials guide
  • CONTACT US! It's possible that something may have slipped through the cracks during the switch, let us know and we will fix it ASAP.
