Interlibrary Loan is a service that allows us to obtain materials that you need from other libraries. We have an online system called Clio for managing ILL requests. Use Clio to:
Patrons can expect books and other loaned materials to arrive in approximately 5 to 7 business days. Articles and content that can be delivered electronically generally arrives after 3 to 5 business days. Some requests may take longer. Please remember to plan ahead as it may take time to obtain the material.
We will contact you if there is a delay with a request, or if we are unable to obtain a requested item.
Please do not use Clio to request codes and standards, instead please fill out a Code and Standard Request Form.

InfoPass allows you obtain materials directly from other Milwaukee area libraries. In order to borrow materials from other local libraries, you must request an InfoPass from a librarian. The following rules apply:
Contact the library at 414-277-7180 or library@msoe.edu to request more information about InfoPass.
Google Scholar can be a useful resource for initial research and for locating scholarly articles. This guide provides information and helpful advice on using Google Scholar in academic research.
Google Scholar doesn't always provide access to full-text resources. Reliable research articles can be expensive. While Google Scholar can help you identify an article, you might be asked to pay to read that article. (This is one benefit of using the library rather than relying on internet searching, by the way!)
Google Scholar can, however, be linked to your MSOE ID, allowing you to locate and then access content included in the library's subscriptions. Follow these instructions to set up this option.
When you are logged into your personal Google account, select Settings in the Google Scholar Menu
In the Settings section: select Library Links and search for Milwaukee School of Engineering. Then select the option to search Milwaukee School of Engineering – Resources @ MSOE. Simply searching for "MSOE" will not work. Search for "Milwaukee School of Engineering".
Once you have set up this option, a Resources @ MSOE link will appear in your search results for resources included in library subscriptions.
Clicking on the Resources @ MSOE link will allow you to access the resource through the library's database subscriptions. If you are off-campus you will first be prompted to sign into MSOE's Single Sign-On (SSO) system.
If the Blue box does not have the "Full Text Online" but does say "Interlibrary Loan" don't panic. That means that the MSOE library does not have the article in its holdings and we will need to request if from another institution. This will take a little longer to reach you but can still be requested through our system.
